Dried Fruits: Sweet & Nutritious

This is probably the easiest ‘recipe’ ever. All you got to do is go to the store, chose some dried fruit, buy it and place it on a plate. So this must be an all time favorite for everyone who does not like cooking. Dried fruits are an amazing alternative to candy. They do have a high amount of sugar as it is much more concentrated than in fresh fruit, but they also have a lot of health benefits. If you crave something sweet I suggest preparing your self a small plate with a variety of dried fruits.

Here are my favorites and their health benefits:

Dried figs are rich in fiber. Fiber keeps our digestive system healthy and going and supports the health of our heart. They are a great source for a variety of minerals, such as iron, magnesium and calcium. These minerals are crucial for a healthy body.

Dried dates are an extremely healthy food, providing our bodies with important vitamins and minerals. These vitamins and minerals keep our bones healthy and strong, they boost our energy levels, keeping us awake even throughout intense days and have also been found to improve muscle strength.

Dried mangoes have a high amount of healthy carbs, making them a great snack on days where we have to study or work a lot. The antioxidants found in dried mango help strengthen our system, keep our skin shiny and have anticancer capabilities.

Dried papaya provide our body with energy, it enhances blood circulation supports healthy vision with its high amount of vitamin a. It also has a large amount of vitamin c, which supports our immune system.

Dried cranberries support the health of our urinary tract, our cardiovascular system and our liver. Due to their high amount of antioxidants they

Dried pineapple has a quite a high amount of protein and is rich in minerals. They have anti- inflammatory properties, support our immune system and keep our energy levels steady.

Tip: pay attention that you buy dried fruit without added sugar. There is no need for added sugar in dried fruit, except for cranberries. Chose cranberries, which are sweetened with apple juice (instead of sugar).
