Sometimes I wake up from lucid dreaming, feeling stressed and thoughtful. I feel trapped between the old me, which always rejected authority and a desire and a need to become a part of it.

Being young I felt opposed to structure, growing older I realized you need to master structures – to be able to create your own. The path towards finding your own way often starts with confusion and worries. I have learned to convert worries into constructive thoughts and triggers for growth. Once I realized I care about the future, I started making the most of the present.

My pregnancy journey so far has been the most beautiful and positively exciting time in my life. I am so thankful to be able to experience this amazing journey together with my husband. Very interesting to me was that not only my body started to change already within the first few weeks of pregnancy, but my mind as well. I care so much for that little life inside of me and at the same time our little baby has already given and taught me so much within these 6 months of pregnancy. I believe that all of us want to live a happy life, but we allow ourselves to get distracted from it and place great importance on other factors, which can lead to leaving happiness out of the equation when making choices in life. Many equalize happiness by status, achievement, look, or clothing. The problem with that is that it can never bring long lasting and true contentment. The only thing that does is an inner state of being, but when we replace that inner state of being with something external we can be sure that we will keep searching and seeking for the rest of our lives.

Two of the things we can be sure about in life are changes and surprises. In psychological coaching we talk a lot about the helpful role of goal setting with determination and flexibility for a happy life, preparing where we want to head and how we can get there. Goal setting and planning are very important. However, there is another key ingredient, which is highly important to a successful and happy life: adaptability. Setting your goals and working consistently are only two ingredients of the feeling fulfilled formula. If we get stuck on our goal and work towards achieving it without looking to the right and left we won’t be able to achieve our goal as wanted. We have to work towards adapting and adjusting to life’s changes.
